STEP 2
Consultation and Assessment
During this stage, we will have an in-depth conversation and gather the information necessary to understand your desired lifestyle, goals and budget. This information will allow us to streamline our search for franchises that best align with your personal and financial criteria.
STEP 3
Research
Your shared background information will be used to evaluate franchises and determine territory availability, for your preferred demographic. Then, I will present selected concepts that best align with you (and any partners), along with data and reasons, why they are viable choices. It is important to keep an open mind, evaluate all the business models, compare and contrast them, and be careful not to discount a business, until you have all the information.
STEP 4
Introduction to Franchise Developers and FDD
I will introduce you to the appropriate person in each franchise organization, and together we will investigate each model. The franchisor will share their Franchise Disclosure Document (a detailed outline of the brand). This will allow you to obtain a thorough analysis of each model and address any questions or concerns.
STEP 5
Investigating the Franchise
You will be provided with the research tools and support to fully investigate the franchise including: guides for the FDD, funding options (provided early in the process, if needed) and validation. I can refer you to a CPA or attorney specializing in franchising, if desired.
STEP 6
Discovery Day
Most franchisors have a Discovery Day, where they invite prospective franchise partners to visit a specific franchise location and see how it is run. You will not only get crucial information to assist you in making a decision, but you will meet the staff that will be supporting you in the operation of your franchise business.
STEP 7
Decision Time
Once you have gone through all the steps, it is time to make an informed decision. You can now be confident that you have taken the necessary steps towards controlling your own life, by owning your own business!
